We liked Athol's soft and downy sparrow caught in the branches of a flowering tree in the Spring, before the leaves could hide him.

Athol was well pleased with having caught the bluetit as it dropped down from its branch.

 Marsh Fritillary - Appin - June-500.jpg)
Bob D is a keen photographer of rare butterflies. This is a Marsh Fritillary. Brian liked the way its head was directly above the flower and he liked the colour scheme of the picture.
 Swallowtail - RSPB Strumpshaw - June-500.jpg)
This is Bob's own choice - a swallowtail, and he chose it because of its rarity and the difficulty of finding it.
